All requests submitted before the deadline will be reviewed by the student's counselor. If a student wants to drop or change an AP class, they need to complete and get signatures on a "Schedule Exceptions” form. Here is a link to that form: (http://tinyurl.com/p69jf4j).
Requests to change teachers will not be considered; not all requests can be granted due to availability, prerequisites, or conflicts in schedules. South Rowan’s Financial Aid Night will take place on January 4th from 6-7 pm in the Media Center. This date is the Monday students return from the break, so add it to your calendar now and don’t forget to invite a parent to come with you. Please join the Guidance Staff for this informative meeting to learn how you can pay for college. A representative from the College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC) will discuss why every college-bound senior should complete the FAFSA and how to get started. Attendees will learn about scholarship opportunities and application procedures.
On November 14, 2015, there will be a Free SAT/ACT Combo Practice Test held by Kaplan Test Prep to help students decide between the New SAT or ACT. The practice test will be held at Kaplan College, Charlotte, NC 10 am-2pm. Please visit www.kaptest.com/satvsact to sign up today.
CFNC Night: A representative from the College Foundation of North Carolina will present a workshop on Thursday evening, October 29th, from 6:00-7:00 in the SRHS Media Center. Students/parents (all grade levels) are encouraged to attend this presentation to learn how to effectively utilize the CFNC website, which is an excellent tool for increasing school success and college readiness.

Attention sophomores and freshmen: An admissions counselor from the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics will be at South Rowan this Wednesday, October 21st, during both South Block/Lunch times. Interested students should inform their South Block teachers before Wednesday of their plans to attend the information session in Room 128 (end of math hall) during South Block. Highly motivated, independent high school students apply during their sophomore year to attend NCSSM’s residential or online programs during the junior/senior years. South Rowan High School has had several students admitted to this prestigious school in recent years. Please attend either the 11:25 or 12:00 session on 10/21 to learn more about NCSSM and the application process.
